Jennie Maradeo Obituary

Jennie F. Maradeo, 82, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 31st at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem.  She was the wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Maradeo (2017).  Born in Nesquehoning, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas “Jigs” and Dorothy (Snyder) Digilio.  She worked as a housekeeper in the community for many years and also worked as a housekeeper for Carbon County Community Living Arrangements.  A lifelong member of the community, she was of the Roman Catholic Faith and was a former member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.

This woman lived as the Matriarch for her family. She was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could have ever imagined! Throughout her time, Jennie’s passion for baking and her selfless nature allowed her to share the most delicious, memorable Italian recipes with all. Any opportunity for her to have her family and friends gather was a joy. Every holiday and “The Shower of Roses” were her favorite times. Jennie was a lifelong football fan. She absolutely loved watching her children play and continued screaming in the stands for generations. She found her calling in caretaking and housekeeping throughout her life. She was a woman of servitude. Jennie’s connection with the Lord was profound. She rejoiced in prayer and sang in the choir. Singing country music and old Connie Francis songs, Jennie sang like an angel and could be heard down the street. A simple woman, Jennie enjoyed cooking for fundraisers with the ladies at the New Columbus Fire Co. and would give her time to the community. Her favorite thing to pass each day was sitting on her porch and watching nature and talking with friends. Jennie was known for her love for butterflies. This child of God’s love will keep her immortally within our hearts.

Surviving are sons Vincent Maradeo and wife Denise of Lehighton and Nicholas Maradeo of Williamsport, a daughter Connie Domines and husband Joseph of Nesquehoning, a sister Mary Theresa-Breiner of Andreas, grandchildren Anthony and Timothy Maradeo, Bailee, Aeris and Gabriella Maradeo, Jennifer Domines, Michelle Strode-Domines and Joseph Domines, great-grandchildren Alex and Blake Domines, Jaimeson Tice Domines, and Delilah and Ophelia Maradeo.  She was predeceased by brothers Michael Digilio, Johnny Digilio, Nicholas Digilio, Samuel Digilio, William Digilio and Charlie Digilio and a sister Dorothy Ziegenfus.
